Cole Talks Comics Episode Aqua Thief: Starman

I've finally ventured into the non-Batman side of the DC Universe. In 1994 James Robinson gave us Jack Knight - son of the original Golden Age Starman. A Gen X rebel who refused to wear a costume and preferred haggling over vintage collectables and records to superheroics. This is Omnibus One - the first sixteen issues of the acclaimed run.

@Jenga666 i guess. it doesn't really matter to me. it's still good reading. plus, Jack Knight pretty much never shows up these days anyway except in crowd scenes - apparently Robinson didn't want any other writers using him. the mantle was passed to Stargirl.

and for someone like me, who is more of a casual DC fan, the reboot is a convenient entry point. i plan on taking advantage of it.

@jetsilveravenger I have dropped all my DC books anyways, but I was waiting for the Grounded trash to wrap up to pick him up again. I don't like the fact that my characters are being retooled for new readers when there will obviously be no new readers. Everyone I meet is kinda like, "yeah, I'll check it out I guess..." I hate retcons so very much. I do agree with you though. The stories don't go away, not when they're in trade.

@Jenga666 i do feel for DC readers who have to put up with yet another annoying reboot. i don't think it's a very nice way of rewarding loyalty. but as i said, since i am not a loyal dc fan (other than Batman) it's somewhat convenient for me. as for other new readers, i really don't know. my local comic shop is offering a price break for anyone who preoders ALL 52 new number ones. but really, the only people who will do that aren't new readers, that's for sure. i'm going to try two out.
