  • you need an off road vehicle and off road tyres for the jardine crossing, i use superswampers tsl 36 inch. but some like to use there winch and swim with crocs.

  • What Month and year did you cross mate? got any pictures or videos?

  • I believe it was July of '07

  • To each their own

  • Hehe .. we thought about driving through too,but were warned against it. Nice attempt :)

  • Thanks, it was good times and definitely one of the highlights of the trip. No vehicle damage, just had to remove the seats and all the mats to dry -the first but not the last time.

  • Upstream from the OTL, about 10k upstream from the present ferry. Can never cross at OTL, but many crossed where the video was taken, it was the original river crossing used by the telegraph linesmen. The first ferry was between the river crossing and the OTL. Many people camped on the Jardine. Had more confidence to cross the river when the old ferry was there and people around. This would be the only place on the Jardine to ford the river . The linesmen knew that.

  • Is this vehicle ford located at the End of the OTL Track?? or more close to the Ferry Crossing?? When i was there is could see the old Telegraph poles at the end of the OTL Track but there the water was like 4m deep at the point!!!

  • Hey mate i saw a massive crocodile in that river about ten years ago.... you could have been lunch.

  • Yeah, unfortunately that's about as far as we got before getting winched out backwards -very soft sand, even with tires at 12 psi.
