i agree i know that james arness mattt dillion in gunsmoke cause he could not use the real western cause he was in pain due to ashot to his leg while he was in th army so he could not lift his leg that high

the second saddle is a roper. It is made to facilitate fast dismounts. The high back cantle of the older saddle was good for long hours on drives or staying mounted. The newer saddle is not a bad saddle it is a newer one. And it may make you crazy but have you seen all the 1950 model grazing bits on the horses in Hollywood? The real give away is spotting a nylon web halter. You know they did not have western movies in 1900 so everything you see on film is fake, period.

I have the circle y shown (the left one) its a 1984 equitation saddle and it's very comfy... it's far from being a bad saddle. it went thru almost 30 yrs and is still in great condition. ...
