It's a shame how they treated Renee on OLTL. It just seems like they reduced the character of Evangeline to a mere "jumpoff" for the three male characters she was involved with on the show.

i second that. he was definitely acting like an emotional invalid. van had class all the way

Van was becoming to important to all the leading men on the show. John was her truest love, Todd was the craziest best friend she will ever have, Christian she settled for, Hugh i think had a crush on her and John knew he did thats why he was always had some what of an attitude when he talked to him, Bo liked her, Kevin flirted with her and then theres Spencer Trueman you could tell he enjoyed their scenes together. All these men came alive with her, she brought their sexy out.

mjkid4ver i agree with you. John did not try hard enough. The writers wanted him to prefer Nat over Vange. In a real life situation, I dont'think there would have been any doubt in his mind who he loved. Deep emotion! If the writers want us to believe their s/l, then they will have to step up to the plate and play it out like it would have played out in real life. ME worked his character in such a way that he wanted you to believe that JOHN LOVED VANGE and that's because he did love her.

I HAVE A QUESTION...LISTEN UP PEOPLE! If Vange and Nat both were tied to the pole, How is it that Nat could fall into the flames. They were tied to the pole. Did the rope suddenly come untied as soon as John bursted through the door? How could she fall if she was tied? Granted, she may pass out, but the ropes would still be holding her up wouldn't they? Of course Nat would be the first to pass out. I'm thinking she saw John burst through the door and once again, she was the helpless Nat.

Come on JoVan fans, you have to admit, that this is a lot for Vange to have to swallow. That's real pain. She said it, don't think the irony is not lost on her"...she would be where Nat is if John had not saved Nat first. I can only imagine what Van must be feeling about the man that she is still in love with and his choosing Nat over her...hurt and relieved that she is alive. The writer's were so unkind to her character, but in doing so, she is more beloved by her fans. We love you REG/Vange.

john ass could have tried harder to get her back, his methods sucked but i guess the writers wanted it that way, natalie needs to just die

@jadadominique naw she said something like "Let michael look at it" his character's brother.

Nail was hit on the head with Evangeline's speech. If only they (Evangeline & John) could have gotten passed their issues. This could have been a SUPER COUPLE.

Big Van fan!! Anyway....WOW!! Van got their whole love triangle summed up. What she said at 5:40 - 6:03 was right on! She said what we've all been thinking from the beginning! John did love Van, but she didn't need saving. That's what really killed them, Natalie did play a *big* part of that. But if it wasn't her...it would have been something or someone else. So sad.....

This was poorly scripted given the following these two had as a unit. Writers were floundering and it showed. What direction?
LOL, she called him by his real name, Michael at 4:35. Guess they didn't think anyone would catch it!

Indeed she did say Micheal but she was talking about his brother. Listen to it closely again she tells John that he needs to have michael look at his cut.
