euston films pumped out some seriously good tv back in the day, sure they had the genius to make prospects, bovell and olsen in there pomp. wish they had done another series. love all there work. love the theme tune to sweeney my favourite. did they produce the fear, back in the day there was some great tv. big deal, it didnt age well but was good at the time. minder and the sweeney have stood the test of time. genuine classics

@Banner1979 and he is the first character ever to appear in Special Branch :)

@CI5AgentSweeps And he looks very young without the beard that he had in The Pros. Keith was also in series 1 Sweeney ep Queen's Pawn in the teaser as the reporter on the steps of the court talking about Lyon and his mates being acquitted. :)

@Banner1979 I like Morrisey (Keith Wasington) he does a very good job in it as a rookie :D

@CI5AgentSweeps Should give it a re-watch then. I liked it that it had some familiar guest stars like Morris Perry (Supt. Maynon from The Sweeney) and Keith Washington (Rahad from Pros ep Untouchables). :)

@Banner1979 IMO Troika was a very good episode :)

@CI5AgentSweeps I know what you mean. The thing with the earlier series of Strangers (another VT'd show) was that they were enjoyable to watch thanks to the characters of Bulman, Willis and Doran and some of the stories had a bit of a Sweeney feel. Series 2 was an improvement because of Murray Smith being the script editor. I actually watched a b&w Special Branch ep at my brother in law's (the one that was on the 1973 series set) and it was very slow, although some of it was okay. :)

@Banner1979 get series 1, then if you like it you could get the second series. I'm enjoying s1 ATM but it would be very hard to have a watching spree of it as the eps are quite slow.
@adamorganic006 Euston Films had second to none production values and were at the cutting edge of cinematic television drama. They formed way back in 1971 and amongst their first works were several TV plays, Special Branch which began filming in 1972 and of course Armchair Cinema which gave us Regan. I have heard loads about Prospects. Euston did do The Fear as well as King & Castle which starred Derek Martin and Nigel Planer and also Widows.

@CI5AgentSweeps Wow, that's interesting. Was he also in the 2nd series?
