Programs like this give me so much hope! I have PCOS and I'm lucky that I have hardly any symptoms like I have regular periods, healthy weight, no facial hair and nearly no cramps or heavy bleeding at all but still after 4 years, I am still not pregnant but as I said this gives me hope.

@charlie8321 Yeah that's due taking progesterone in the BC for a long period which is suppressing the cycle. That's one of two ways of inducing ovulation. This site explains that and the rest natural-fertility-info . c o m / progesterone-fertility-guide

@charlie8321 Yes and what do you think it is that causes PCOS? Have you noticed that your progesterone levels don't raise during your cycle when they should? Of course you haven't noticed that because your doctor refuses to check it. You will stay insulin resistant and have problems all your life until you address the problem and if you refuse to treat the CAUSE of PCOS and instead insist on messing with the symptoms then you'll stay sick forever.

@midtra52 Are you a doctor? You must be to be making such statements. She is doing very well compared to how she was doing. Is she overweight? Yes, but it is an upward struggle, losing weight with PCOS is more difficult than normal. Metformin helps control Insulin which affects PCOS, doesn't mask it.

Ashley ur not alone when i first found out what i had i cryed my eyes out because i got answer's.no need to be ashame of PCOS just make sure you get to it on time an dont play around if you think something is going different go to the doctors. Thanks ashley
She's doing very well now? She's enormous! Metformin doesn't solve the problem. It masks some of the symptoms and then only temporarily if you're lucky. She needs progesterone according to her cycle. PCOS means your progesterone producing folicles were destroyed by chemical exposure either as a fetus or as you're growing. This woman manged to have a child but she'll die of a heart attack and leave her child without a mother.

@midtra52 you obviously don't have PCOS or know anything about it. The hormone imbalance that is caused by PCOS causes you to have insulin resistance so that your body isn't using insulin properly. Losing weight when you have PCOS is extremely hard, I was diagnosed 9 years ago and have struggled to lose weight. There's no magic bullet and it's different for everyone person, but the difficulty losing weight is a characteristic of this disease. Believe me, we don't choose to be fat.

@charlie8321 I should say by "symptoms" i also mean all the other hormones that get thrown off due to progesterone not rising and causing ovulation when it should. Mainstream doctors like to keep you sick your whole life and ignore the actual cause of this and most other illnesses. It doesn't matter how many other hormones they test or symptoms they treat. I hope you come to understand this eventually and get the help you need.

@midtra52 Progesterone isn't the end all be all either. My doctor has all of my hormone levels checked every 3 months. And I went off birth control last year for 6 months and I was ovulating.
