In Roberval, at the beginning of the century, the secret love story between two teenagers, Simon and Vallier, ends by the tragic death of Vallier in a fire. Even if it proclaims its innocence, their link and appearance makes that Simon is still in prison forty years old later. With the help of fellow prisoners and with the prison personnel, Simon took up, for the bishop, a play which relates its own history and its link with the bishop who comes to confess it in prison which killed Vallier!
