Number 1 humans *did* evolve from lower lifeforms... that is a *fact* that is supported by multiple, independent lines of *evidence*. Your education clearly is sorely lacking. Unfortunately for egocentric creationists, ignorance is not a cogent argument.
Number 2, I do *not* think evolution produced a being that is immortal. I cannot imagine how your fevered imagination came up with that misinterpretation of my comment.
Even the universe is not necessarily immortal.

Does the Bible show a woman had a choice in marriage? Yes, when people did what was right!
Don't misunderstand: the Bible is also intended to be a book of BAD examples NOT to follow: 1 Cor. 10:6.
In Genesis 24, especially vss. 57-58, Rebekah CLEARLY has a choice of whether to marry -- even when everyone around her might think it is YHWH's or elohim's will!
Laban is a bad guy, made very clear (e.g., Gen. 31:7), a bad example NOT to follow (in regards to Jacob, Leah, & Rachel).

Does the Bible promote RAPE? No.
There IS an English VERSION that seems to, but it is BADLY mistranslated: Deut. 22:28 NIV! The Hebrew there is taphas תפש (Strong's h8610). The word means to take, not to rape.
Compare vs. 25, where it IS a rape--and the man is to be PUT TO DEATH (not just because she's betrothed). The Hebrew there is chazaq חזק (Strong's h2388). The word is being used to indicate she is forced.
Vs. 25 IS a rape. Vs. 28 refers ONLY to premarital sex. Cp. 26.

@DeistPaladin Great video, but you forgot to mention that god FORBID the Hebrews to mix with any Gentiles. They had to wear clothes made from only ONE type of fiber at a time, as a constant reminder not to mix with foreigners. In Ezra, all the men who returned to Israel from Babylon, who had non-Hebrew wives, had to divorce them and disown their children because of this law. What this means is that by allowing the Hebrews to take female sex slaves, god is completely contradicting his OWN Law!!!!

@DeistPaladin A fair question. But everyone just excuses it.

@DeistPaladin i think for the most part this is a fun topic to discuss because it leaves so much room for definition. to think of sex with anyone who simply is denied the choice is a bit too narrow. i believe that a choice has a lot to do with it as the choices presented to a person may make for the person to be confused of any decisions they might make. ever hear of date rape. you pressure someone little by little and watch them cave. this is the more pressing matter in the topic of rape.

@DeistPaladin God forgot to iclude rape in the bible lol sounds human to me.

@DeistPaladin Gen 3:16 Being subordinate is the result of the curse on Women. But this was not the Ideal state for them.
If you could ask a woman of antiquity how she felt being a sex slave given her father sold her according to the custom. She might find the question absurd. It was accepted. Tamar 2 Samuel 13:Before being raped suggested MARRIAGE.
To paraphrase Socrates"Is what is morally good commanded by God because it is morally good, or is it morally good because it is commanded by God?
-
@rocstdybeebop So God couldn't outlaw rape or command gender equality? Does God make the rules or not?
-
@DeistPaladin No,What Im saying is that the ancients didnt see themselves as victims as our modern western outlook may suggest.By our modern western standards all women where raped at that period in history,Because none of them chose or had freedom.
As far as morality is concern I don't share the typical view of Christians,I believe GOD can not hold himself to certain morals laws set for man for example (Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal)GOD can not be held to this because all creation is his.
Deuteronomy 21:10-14
This passage does Not endorse rape.Read it in context,In this passage its speaking of MARRYING the woman and she is not forced into sex by the fact IN VERSE 13 she is given a FULL MONTH to mourn before CONSUMMATING and she is NOT to be SOLD.
Consider History and Pagan Cultures for a moment Women did not have rights or the ability to provide for themselves in those days and polygamy was common.Rape is clearly a capital punishment in the bible.

@rocstdybeebop I'm sorry, I missed this earlier. Let me be clear: sex with a slave is rape. Period.
Rape is defined as sex without one person's consent. If she has no choice in the matter, it's rape. This is not my opinion. This is the very definition of the term. The slave has no choice, therefore sex with a slave is rape.
You can slap the label "marriage" on it to try to sanitize it but it's still rape. By definition. Q.E.D.
