@winchestersgal I just finished book 6, a good one. Astor saves Dexter at the end of the book when he is being strangled by his evil nemesis. She assaults the bad guy with a soda can, a kick to the nards, and then she runs him over with the boat. I understand why they can't do this stuff in the show (the young actress being traumatized and all) but it sure would be fun. ;)

@winchestersgal Remember the barking dog in the series, that Rita takes away? In Book 2 Cody and Astor ahem - take care of the dog themselves, eventually Dexter figures it out and realizes they are like him, so he starts teaching them the "Harry Way". It's a side story in all the books afterwards. Also the books have a more supernatural element... the Dark Passenger is an actual "demonic entity" in the books, which they only really allude to in Season 5 in the series.
