In this episode of Qore John Koller and Veronica Belmont Reveals The "PSP Go" and confirms some of the specifications for the PSP Go.

This will not Replace the PSP-3000 for players that prefer a tangible product (UMD games and movies). UMDs will not disappear with the release of PSP Go, Sony will still support UMD.

Specifications:
* Official Name - PSP Go

* 3.8 LCD Screen

* 43% Lighter then PSP-3000

* 16GB Flash Memory

* Memory Stick Micro Support

* BlueTooth Support - HeadSet and Cellphone Support

* All Digital Content (No UMD)

* Slide Out Controls

* Remote Play Support

THE BAD

* No UMD means one thing if you don't have a internet connection your screwed this thing is pretty much useless as you cant download any content for it.

*No touchscreen come on sony touchscreen is a must these days Nintendo DS, Ipod touch ring any bells?

*No USB port? is it just me or do i not see a USB port anywhere on this thing.

*Screen has shrunk the previous models of the PSP had a beautiful 4.3 inch display the PSP go has a smaller 3.8 display similar to DS's original 3.3 screen

*No memory stick pro duo slot the psp go only has a memory stick micro slot only which means if your planning to upgrade to a PSP go from a previous model your memory stick will not work.

*Button's cramped the buttons seems to be placed way to close together especially the analog stick i can see my thumbs getting cramped very quickly whilst playing games
and not to mention the start and select buttons they seem to be just about impossible to press without pressing both of them

*Price has not been set but im guessing it will return to PSP's original retail price which was $249.99 or possibly more seeing as how PSP 3000 is $200 and he said both will be available at the same time

  • Rememrber how you dumbasses got excited about this shit? Don't make the same mistake with the ps vita, dumbasses..

  • If only Sony knew that this was a bad idea. They said themselves that they would work on a way to put your old UMDs on it, but they never did. Then they made it so it's not compatible with the Go Cam. And they just had to top off that shit sundae with the outrageous price. $250. 2 years later and it's discontinued. It's discontinued and $200. Still a rip off.

  • what a piece of shit

  • fuc*king design...psp 3004!!! hallelujah!

  • Ikr lik u miite hav to wait for lik 5 hours to finish.

  • branbueno,

    Obviously you will need a USB cable for any existing PSP you want to hook up with the PC, but those are real cheap.

  • branbueno,

    Wi-fi hotspots would depend on your area, I guess. Most people would be using it at home when using wi-fi.

    Keep in mind you don't need wi-fi for PSP Go or existing PSPs. Sony have Media Go, their free download.

    PSP Go comes with it, and you can download it now and start using it. It works for all PSPs. You can download from any internet-enabled machine running Windows XP or later (from memory) and have stuff transferred to the PSP from your intiernet-enabled machine.

    Regards.

  • interwebbist,

    I may have been unclear in my question. What I meant to say is that does it come with a wi-fi hotspots like in the PSPs in Japan?

  • Branbueno,

    Every PSP comes with integrated wi-fi for wireless downloads. It's the WLAN (wireless LAN) switch.

    You will need a wi-fi router in your house or hotspot to download with. Or simply use a USB cable on an internet-enabled computer to transfer games and other content.

    PSP Go will come with a USB cable and of course integrated wi-fi. With existing PSPs you buy your own USB cable (or use the same cable you might have with your digital camera...they are often the same cable).

  • interwebbist,

    Thanks for the info but I still am not sure if i should buy this. But I would if you can answer one question of mine. Does it come with built in WIFI?
