i went out looking for a ss commodore 5.7 litre and came home with a ba xr8 5.4 litre. took both for a spin & the ford was heaps more grunty. the holden boys at work were pissed.

@Lynchy237 do they really get quicker times? you're relying on the car's ecu to find the "shift points" for that.
I guess with new transmissions and technology, they are able to make them seamingly accurate, but i'd say it would be a while when we start seeing perfect shift times in cars everywhere. Having said that - i would rather spent my cash on modifying something i know i will have control over.

why not??? autos get quicker times down the strip, I drive a 342 rwkw 6spd manual xr6 turbo but its a proven fact the zf 6 spd autos produce quicker times.
