  • It was 1969 and WNEW in New York played this and I was hooked.

  • @gmalav5877 ... me too !

  • loved this song - it tops my favorties - the only album I kept in my hundreds in wooden crates during the 60s -80s was this one - named my daugher after the backup singer "Maggie' - of Rod Stewarts maggie mae

  • @jvanesen ... the "share" is appreciated ... thanks !

  • I bought the LP- "It Ain't Easy"- when it first came out 'cos A) it was produced by his old bandmates Rod Stewart and Elton John and B) it was on sale at Alexander's department store for $2.99 (LOL), which was the going rate at that time. Those were the days. RIP, John.

  • @paskuniag .... I remember $2.99 (mono) & $3.99 (stereo) when I first started purchasing LPs ... thanks !

  • Elton and Baldry were great friends. As the story goes Elton was going to kill himself many years ago and Baldry came to his aid. "Someone saved my life tonight" was a song from Elton to Baldry. Elton also took the name "John" from Baldry. Some trivia for ya'!

  • Long John (God Bless His Soul) inspired and played with so many greats......just listen to the guitar part....doesn't it remind you of something from CREAM!

  • I saw LJB in a little pub in port coqutlem not much bigger then my living room. To this day it remains in the top 5 live performance I've seen. Thanks

  • All these kida today just remember LJB from just voicing some video game character Robotnik, well they need to hear some of his tunes, this was totally awesome!!:)

  • ?. why did it take many [me] of 50 years to here this great band and singers . my older uncle and brother got me listening to good r+b music in 1957, but untill my son found this great music , it was locked out mostly in the good old USA. the BRITTS loved our [minority?] music, and celibrated something that our SORRY political state could not at that time. ROCK!.
