The QRM is caused by the powerline adaptors, NOT the BT Home-Hub.
LOOK! OFcom and BT solved my own QRM today 12/08/08! so you can do something about this, join us for more info
This video and others issues by myself under the UKQRM header have been made to provide information to others regarding what I and many members of UKQRM see as a serious erosion of UK law and the rights of UK citizens. The opinions expressed within these films were arrived at using the best of my abilities and represent my own personal view point.

I just looked at specs of PLT device. Offers 200Mbps of data transfer. My DLINK Wireless router offers me 54Mbps on my pc and I still get the full 1000KB/s download speed offered by my ISP, with full encryption and security enabled, so what is the point? Just an easy way for the signal to get intercepted by the men in black I assume as all they need is a SW receiver. I just don't see any real use for a PLT that a wireless router can't offer.
What better way to deny access to free information and/or reception of signals we maybe shouldn't be listening to on SW than instead of making Jammers, just get the public to jam the signals locally with their own money. The BBC, and BT work hand in hand with the Government on a variety of projects and I hate all 3 of those organisations. I will support the UKQRM group in any way I can.
Cheers for this post I have added it to my site no way should this be allowed I just had A lok on the RSGB web site and found the pdf they had sent to Ofcom about this problem. if there is Any way you feel I may be of some help I will do my best . My best allcingeye
here here well said old boy tell bt to go get fucked . although saying that i use a bt home hub and get nothing on my radio from that. but my old sony trinitron tv gives me 5 quid of shit through out the 10 -11 meter band .what a shitter. down with sony.
Seems to me its all a plan to push free radio communications away, for us people to pay for everything on this world :( and on the side even fill our heads with all this "noise"
Just wanted to report that since the making of this video my neighbours have become good neighbours! but quite clearly another aspect of this crappy technology is bad neighbour relations!
STOP PRESS does PLT slow down broadband? seems like it
I am very interested in this stuff. I must admit, I use Homeplug because I have no choice. I live in a rented house, and can't run cable, and WiFi just isn't an option.
Is it possible for the companies behind this technology to make them either less noisy, or use a different frequency band?
Yes it is possible, but all the time they can get away with selling this stuff they will. The best thing to do would be to complain you can't use your shortwave radio now and send this to trading standards as you will see the PLT will say it complies with EMC and other directives when it clearly does not. Much more information can be had from our web site 'ukqrm' just google us :-)
i know they get away with this stuff because OFCOM just like customs only care about commercial stuff for example OFCOM WOULD do something about it if it was on FM or DAB band. also customs let through loads of stuff that they are not meant to like when i was in "a well Known Supermarket" every DVD player, Freeview Box and Satalite Tuner they had in stock was below standard to the point that it was not legal for sale in this country
