  • @jtl41091 7 years ago there were.

  • @guitarhero2211 lol theres no push ups dude. stop trying to be cool

  • Only reason they let us out that quick was because they wanted us on the rifle range afterwards... and then bayonet training. Basically, the SSgts were bored. they made some guys do crap things, but they were keen to get back to watch the rugby I think. still, bloody hurt. That's me at 0.30...

  • @63517489 bollocks

  • come to germany!

  • @DrMotorDude Fair play man and I suppose it does make sense now you put it that way.

  • @Chaingunkill Political correctness - I agree, it's BS. After I left active duty as a medic, I went to Univ. and among other things studied psychology of war. The reason for NBC is to MAKE IT STICK in the memory, same reason the Foreign Legion still smacks trainees when they screw up. PAIN makes the human brain remember faster than anything. As for staying in longer-big difference in eye/nose irritation and actually inhaling the gas/crystals. I went in '89 and recall it in vivid detail.

  • @DrMotorDude blame the Political correctness brigade for bringing in the term 'respirator', I'm quite happy to refer to it as a gas mask (which is what it is) - that's indoctrination for you.

If NBC training is for the soldier to correctly use and trust their equipment, what the fuck is the point in fucking them about unnecessarily then?, once the confidence test is over, the drills done, then the only realistic reason to keep someone in there/do more is just to fuck them about.

  • @guitarhero2211 EXACTLY! after push ups and flutter kicks - and good heavy breathing - we all inhaled WAY too much to say our names and last fours, let alone the Army song. These guys are getting a TASTE of it but none of them are gagging or violently coughing from actually inhaling it. I didn't vomit but I did cough up a meter long snot rope, it made a trail like a snail. I don't know about 'tablets' but I did see the 'solid, 1Kg, one ea' label. It was in a pan on a small cook stove.

  • @Chaingunkill "Over here it's 3 times as bad" = Bullshit. IF you are able to state your name and number IT IS NOT 3% - I guarantee it. BTW, a respirator is for industrial use ie: paint, solvent, pesticides, etc. and will not protect the user against anti riot gas or chemical warfare agents, but a 'protective mask' (different filter media all together) will. I NEVER said it was 'for punishment' - NBC training is for the soldier to correctly use and TRUST his equipment.
