#3 - Dancing Mad (pt.2) - Final Fantasy 6

Coming in at a staggering 17 minutes long, "Dancing Mad" is the pinnacle of SNES musical achievement. For the unfamiliar, this is the final boss theme of Final Fantasy 6, an epic fight where all 12 of your party members ascend up 3 "tiers" of lesser bosses before the fourth and final tier, Kefka himself. Similarly, the song itself is divided into 4 distinct tiers, and each plays during its corresponding boss fight. The eerily beautiful church organ combines with the haunting choir to create a perfect battle tune for fighting insane diabolical clown-gods. If you have not experienced this fight first hand, I suggest you do because it is one of the most memorable and most awesome video game moments ever. *Note, because of its length I had to split the song into 2 videos. This second part consists of the last two tiers.

Here's one thing that Kefka succeeded at where all other Final Fantasy villains aside from Emperor Mateus failed... He literally became god. He slaughtered millions of people and destroyed all hope and almost the entire world, all just for shits and giggles. Few villains in the series, and in video game history, even, can even come CLOSE to holding a candle to that. Yup. Kefka is the best FF villain, and indisputably one of the best villains in general, ever, IMO.

There's too much pessimism in these comments. Great games are still made. Nostalgia adds some tiers to certain games such as FF6; but don't let that cloud you from great modern games.

@poltergeistx I agree. Final Fantasy 6 was the VERY LAST ONE in the classic series. That is why Final Fantasy 1-6 will always be the TRUE games in the series in my eyes.
