@mirageF1AZ - # 2 - Word was Yahara Sensei wanted to stop running the KWF. I reason that he's wealthy & successful and does not need the pressure of running KWF. Being an International Head would be a tough juggling act. Time will tell what happens. That should not concern you though. Your SA group will survive and thrive. I've done the backpacking karate thing through Japan & highly recommend it Don't worry JKA, KWF, JKS etc. Just train, makes friends & enjoy yourself. ;) Cheers
@mirageF1AZ - My take on KWF (and remember you asked) -
* Yahara Sensei is charismatic & charming but far too hard (brutal & inconsiderate) on his Kenshusei & assistants. Gone - Pemba Sensei, Aramoto Sensei & now Kawasaki (sp?) is injured (unsure why) and Robert Sidolli has departed (not too sure why).
* His assistant is Isaka Sensei who has some 'quirky' ideas about karate.
* Malcolm Sensei probably runs the best KWF internationally.
@BelloBudo007 I trained with Sensei Malcolf prior to KWF when he was still affiliated to JKA. for some reasy I enjoy the KWF karate more than I enjoyed JKA...I havent trained with international senseis, I would realy like to. I am planning to do a backpack tour throug Europe next year starting in Great brittain going from dojo to dojo...What is your take on the KWF karate style?
@mirageF1AZ - I've never met Sensei Stan yet either but hope to one day. However I've studied his work through his books and trained with quite a few of his SA students and they have impressed me with their technique and attitude. I've met and trained with Sensei Malcolm (before KWF), so IMHO you are in excellent hands. As for exaggeration, well, we all do it to make our point. Personally I do it all the time with my wife. Mmm that maybe not the best example. ;)
@mihneatheripper I watched the video , was verry good. I couldnt make out who the people were but I think I reconized one of the guys fighting.

@mihneatheripper Where were WKC held?, because I think I know the guys who were there. I always tend to underestimate our kumite capabilities.

@mirageF1AZ i asked because i saw some guys from SA at a wkc event that, as you said were not that good at kumite but the kata was pretty good

@mihneatheripper As far as I know my federation takes part in all karate competitions. WKF, WSKA , Shotokan cup , Kanazawa Cup the list goes on.
