  • Is this why studies show adventist are among the longest living people on the planet?

  • Just a few passages that mention the Spirit/Soul of a man:

Rev 6:9 I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held

Rev 20:4 ...And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus...They all came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

Ecclesiastes 3:21 Who knoweth if the spirit of the children of Adam ascend upward, and if the spirit of the beasts descend downward?

  • @Mekelsior If Seventh Day Adventists truly studied the Bible, as they claim to do, they would quickly realize the heretical notions supported and promoted by Ellen White are completely contradictory to the Word of God. Concisely put, Ellen White was a good liar.

  • @Mekelsior How can Ellen White be a true prophetess after clearly speaking numerous false prophecies in the name of the Lord? By the way, Ellen White was not a follower of God, so what is written in Joel does not apply to her. She lived during the 19th century, obviously not the end of days. SDA doctrine does not "line up" with Biblical teaching, it "lines up" with Ellen White's teachings; this is evident in SDA's over obsessive adoration and devotion to EGW's false beliefs.

  • @Mekelsior The following passages confirm the separation of the soul and the body at the time of death: Luke 8:54,55; Matthew 10:28; James 2:26; Romans 7:4,10,13. The next passages confirm the fact that, at the time of the second coming, a believer's body will be resurrected, conjoined with the departed soul, and glorified by the Lord: 1 Corinthians 15:50-53; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 6:9-11. He's God, it doesn't matter if our bodies are decayed, He said they'd rise up, so they will.

  • @BiscutLad Where does it say that the souls of dead christians would be reunited with the sleeping bodies at Christs return? Would not the sleeping bodies be long gone due to decay?

  • @BiscutLad The Bible says in revelation that the saints of the last days would keep the commandments of God and have the gift of prophecy. Jesus also said that we should be aware of false prophets, implied is that there would be prophets of God that would come in the last days. It is written in Joel that the gift of prophecy would be given to the followers of God in the last days as well. I follow the teachings of the Bible and they line up with the teachings of Seventh day Adventism.

  • @BiscutLad Most adventists regard the writings of sister White as the lesser light and not the greater, she encourages us to study the Bible and if we had we would not need her writings. The Bible teaches very closely that the commandments of God are still in place and that heaven and earth would rather be destroyed than one jot or tittle of the law be fulfilled. Jesus came to this earth to fulfill the law not to destroy, meaning to say He came to show us how to live our lives.

  • @WhatsupwithSDA The Bible states that we are a soul not that we have a soul. This is written from the beginning of the Bible, Adam became a living soul, the soul that sinneth it shall die, this view of the soul is the same as that of Luther and other reformers. The doctrine of us having a soul is taken from mystery religions and made popular by the Roman catholic church. If the soul was immortal, then God would not claim that He was the only immortal, nor would we be given immortality.

  • Wow, this guy claims that the human has no soul or spirit? I guess he doesn't believe the Bible says on this topic.

If we are truly just meat down to the bone, (which is what the evolution/athiests believe), what part of man are we trying to save? The body will die and I guess that is just it. Isn't it the soul of man that we are trying to save when we preach the WORD. And save him from what? Save him from Hell. Isn't that what Christ came to do?

    What is up with SDAs?
