If people want a union, go to a business which allows unions. If people want unions so bad, the market (read: aggregate demand of the sum of individuals in a given region) will provide a niche for businesses who allow unions to undercut those which do not.

I'd love to be a greeter when I'm an old fuck. Sounds like the easiest job in the world.

@FlamboyantFlamingo97 How dare they choose a sweat shop over rolling around in a rice patty flooded with shit. Promoting? I heard him say some of those countries are so F---ed up that even a sweat shop was huge step up. If you were in that position you would skip the sweat shop and blow dudes in the back ally so you could buy food - good job.
-
How corrupt and twisted did you have to be to DEFEND sweatshops? If I were in that position I'd rather be farming than working my ass off in some fascist shop being beat in the back and losing fingers and shit...WHAT THE HELL? The guy promoting them just goes to show you how fucking corrupt things are...

@ghostrider5378 I actually yelled "Damn FUCKING STRAIGHT!" when he said that.

FUCK YOU BOTH IN THE FUCKING NECK!!

I'd like to see those two Yankee assholes run a register during Christmas.
They'd probably walk out and go back to making propaganda t-shirts.

@OCPios62 3) Chinese custom is to work longer days than hours yes, but it's popular to have a 1 hour lunch (provided free from the employer) and a 1 hour nap time immediately after. Also depending on shift times most companies also provide free dinners. 4) We were always desperately looking for more workers. Tons of jobs available. You just hear about it now in the news cause Chinese see how good we have it in America and they're jealous. They want shit for free without progress.
-
@OCPios62 You obviously have never been to China. So let me clear up your understanding. 1) In Dongguan (one of the largest manufacturing densities in China) it is mandatory by law that employers provide free housing. Our facilities were 4 people per apartment. They had community living spaces, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. 2) During large Chinese holidays a large population of employees never come back because they get new jobs or go home to work on farms.

@psiewert83 You make it sound like jobs are a dime a dozen in China. People are in fact forced because there are so few jobs to go around. Conditions are not great at these places and no worker unions exist to improve them; they are at the whim of Apple and Foxconn. Working 12hr shifts with only a 2hr break which includes being allowed to eat. People end up living in dorms near the factory in small rooms, 7 people to each room. "Get a new job" is not so simple in these parts of China.

We may not have a union at Walmart, but we're treated well, everyone is paid at least a little over minimum wage, and we get sweet blue vests. Those fags in the T-shirts probably bought those pants from Walmart anyhow.
