The final of the 1988 BPAA US Open featured two of the best bowlers of the 1980s: top seed Marshall Holman and Pete Weber. The match was low-scoring, but definitely entertaining and testy at times, as it featured two of the most emotional players the PBA has ever seen. This would be the first of Pete Weber's record FOUR US Open titles. Part 2 of 2.

Very likely Pete Weber is the most pure talent the sport has ever seen. There are others with more titles than him, but on sheer ability this guy is amazing.

Agreed. If he wouldn't have had the problems with the bottle and his attitude in the early 1990s, I firmly believe he'd have as many or more titles than Walter Ray...and still might, when it's all said and done.

Holman was a fave of mine as a child. But he blew a 10 pin in the 5th with 100 G's on the line. So bad breaks or not, he didn't deserve the money nor the title in this tournament.
