Wow! We are fighting the same battle we have been for decades, rigidity of the mind.

@SmervinMervin24 An atheist doesn't believe in god because they have no reason to believe in god. There are many more things people have no reason to believe in, like ghosts, or vampires. How would you go about proving that those don't exist?

The Butler Act, prohibiting the teaching of evolution in Tennessee schools, wasn't repealed until 1967. And even now, in other states, evolution is coming under fire from backwards elements in society. Is man's ego so great and inflexible, he refuses to admit his origins in the face of overwhelming evidence? Thanks for the great clip from this great movie!

@Lulzalutioners I have no idea what you are talking about. You are making a comment on something I said a few months ago????

@gcnengineer Even if we could not it wouldn't matter in the least.

Spencer tracy was such a great actor.
Wow. The same thing is happening today, except wherever they say "evolution," insert "intelligent design." We've come so far that we've walked in a perfect twisted circle back to where we started--like a moibus strip--and now the argument is flipped on itself. All the people in the gallery are now shouting "evolution," and the lawyer is pleading for the court (of public opinion) to hear the case for intelligent design. Perhaps in a few more years we'll be wise enough to hear the arguments.

@12centuries The "case" for Intelligent Design is based entirely on turning myth into fact. Any right-headed person dismisses it - rightfully - as quackery and pseudo-science. It's a last ditch effort from creationists, and most people in the court of opinion can catch the stench of desperation from miles away.

@Manos99 Thank you for proving my point, and so quickly at that. You sound like the people in the gallery. I submit to you that you, like them, are basing your argument on a flawed understanding of intelligent design. It may not be what you think it is. Look into information theory as it applies to I.D. and prepare to see things from a new perspective (and new perspectives aren't bad, by the way; just watch the video again for some interesting thoughts on that).

@12centuries "Fanaticism and ignorance is forever busy, and needs feeding." Your "new perspectives" are based on ignorance that has been overwhelmingly rejected by the scientific community.
