"If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Luke 9:23

"When we cry, 'Abba! Father!' it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us."
Romans 8:15-18

"...as you share in the sufferings you also share in the encouragement."
2 Cor 1:7 (NAB)

"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed every day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,"
2 Cor 4:16-17

"...we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us."
Romans 5:3-5

"For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."
Romans 8:24-25

"Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."
Romans 12:12

Prayer to suffer in union with Jesus;
"For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, ... that I may gain Christ ... that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, ... if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead." (Phil 3:8, 10-11)
Dear Lord I am suffering right now. It's hard Jesus. I feel like I'm on the fringe of life.
O Father I would like to be released from this suffering. I prayed for healing according to Your will. However, if You will that I suffer for a season, then I offer this suffering in union with Jesus my crucified Lord who willingly endured such suffering for me.
O Lord Jesus, I want to grow closer to you and that means taking up my cross each day and following you. Even so, thank you that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. You help me to bear this suffering Lord, and in doing so You draw me closer to Yourself and to Your Sacred Heart.
For Love of You I unite my pains with yours and offer them to Your Father and mine. I ask only the grace to grow in love and to bear this cross with heroism and grace all the way to the resurrection.
Thank You Jesus! Amen.

"The everlasting God has, in His wisdom, foreseen from eternity the cross that He now presents to you as a gift from His inmost Heart. This Cross He now sends you He has considered with His all-knowing eyes, understood with His Divine mind, tested with His wise justice, warmed with loving arms and weighed with His own hands to see that it be not one inch too large and not one ounce too heavy for you. He has blessed it with His holy name, anointed it with His grace, perfumed it with His consolation, taken one last glance at you and your courage, and then sent it to you from heaven, a special greeting from God to you, an alms of the all-merciful love of God." - St. Francis de Sales

They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

"Behold, the dwelling of God is with men. ... he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away." And he who sat upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new."
Rev 21:3-5

"I am the Lord, your healer."
Ex 15:26

"Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Josh 1:9

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Rom 15:13

Please send this to all your friends and family. You never know if they, or someone they know might be suffering.

All Glory & Honor to God

Peace & Love in Christ.

  • I got a serious question. Why is the cross considered such a holy symbol just because Jesus died on it, when the long history of the cross repesented a old traditional method of execution for hundreds of thounsands of criminals? Remember, according to the scripture, two criminals were hung on the cross next to jesus. Is the cross a dark holy symbol or totally misleading? Also, why did the ku klux klan burn the cross. I need serious answers.

  • @360gooden, the Cross signifies SACRIFICE. Love is a sacrifice. The cross at one time signified shame for criminals. But since Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we can be reconciled to God, it is considered a symbol of sacrifice, mercy and love.

Those two criminals could represent us; one who does not believe and/or accept God's mercy and the other how fully trusted in His mercy & begged for Jesus to remember him. That "criminal" is now in heaven with Jesus.

  • @360gooden, we in the Cathoilc Church know the one thief who trusted in the mercy of Jesus as St. Dismas. I always want to say, "Remember me when you go into your Kingdom!" We consider him the "Good thief" or the "Penitent Thief."

  • Thank you Sandy. This is a beautiful reflection of why it is that those who suffer are so geatly blessed. For everything taken in this life is replaced with great gifts from God. Thank you so much for your video. Anne

  • Thank you for your kind words Ann. Please thank the Holy Spirit for inspiring me to make this video. It is one of the simplest but most loved videos I have. All Glory to God! :)

  • Help me God....

  • To the maker of this video : thank you so very much! You just helped a broken man get through his day :'-)

  • @360gooden The cross is considered such a Holy symbol exactly because of what you say ... it was indeed " traditional method of execution for hundreds of thounsands of criminals" and Christ showed both his love and utter humility when He allowed Himself to be hung on it. To be hung from a tree naked in public was the greatest shame a Jew could imagine ... Jesus was born in the lowest condition possible - in poverty in a dirty cold hard stable - even though his parents had a home in Nazareth...

  • He could have chosen to be born in luxury - he chose utter poverty surrounded by the outcasts of society. He lived His life in poverty and surrounded himself with sinners tax collectors - outcasts ... so why would He choose to die in any other manner? So you see by these things the cross become a very appropriate symbol not just of His his loving sacrifice but also of His entire way of life.

  • @TheOldschool1979, no problem. (((hug))) ♥ :)

  • @TheOldschool1979, I'm sorry about your troubles. :( God will never get in the way of you doing what you need to do to be a good father for your children. That is what God wants, for you to be a better father for your kids. Take a deep breath, relax and allow for God to work through you and with time you will notice a difference.

I have just gone through a traumatic experience myself, very painful experience.

I will keep you in my prayers. Again, I'm so sorry.

  • thank u
