This is Elmo my cockatiel. He is just over two years old but I have only had him for a year. He loves cuddles, singing along to the radio, dancing, chatting on the phone; and the hoover

  • He is not perfect ALL the time. I dont stand there all day waiting for him to get it right so I can record him LOL. He only does the finger snaps when he feels like it. Sometimes he nods his head and sometimes he bangs his beak on the cage. He is an individual and does this for sheer enjoyment. And we are not in australia. Lastly, I cannot take the credit for teaching him, I adopted him and he was taught by his previous owner.

He likes to be in his cage, but he comes out when he wants to.

  • why was POPTUB's comment spammed? anyway, the parrot is cool.

  • @Reberi96 Dont know who spammed it, but the clip on their show was great. I am so proud of Elmo. He is unspammed now.

  • Cute! ^__^

  • This is definitely one of the top "Addams Family" cockatiel performances I've seen on YouTube. Elmo manages to perform most of the song, in the proper order, which most birds don't - they kind of toss around various pieces of it.

However, he should've had some assistance with the finger-snapping sounds at the correct time, starting at 2:08.

I wonder why it's so popular to teach cockatiels this song anyway? And especially in Australia?

  • I think Elmo is a happy, lucky little birdie. He has such a nice little world, bright and colorful, and a kind owner who cares for and encourages him. Sing your little heart out, Elmo!

  • @Weinmanniaf Why do you think that?

  • @Lesley53 Really? That makes a change.

  • @Melysia01 I was told that females don't have such bright cheek circles. Which makes sense since many male birds have more colors to attract females.

  • how much do these cost
