thank you for this offering, but I believe your player is undercranking. I'm a huge Ben Pollack fan and every other recording of this tune plays instrumentals in concert E Flat.

she mentioned 'C. O. D.' she doesn't mean call of duty does she?

Pollack's 1928 band had somewhat of an "all-star" lineup, considering who were featured at the time: Goodman, Jack Teagarden and Jimmy McPartland. This was recorded on October 15, 1928; Two takes were preserved (the second, unissued version released on LP in the '50s).

One of the earliest recordings featuring the young Benny Goodman. He sounds as confident here as in his later years. 5*

Hi Lana, I love Belle Mann's voice. She still has that characteristic note of the "it" girls vocals of the middle 1920s (Helen Kane etc) but it sounds more "modern" and is completely free of that irritating cutieness

The nmame "Hupmobile" sounds the same exotic to me. But it's line looks smart enough to remember that model and perhaps get it for our next season in South'o'France?

Great offering with wonderful images and wow! Pollack had a wonderful orchestra and the arrangement here in 1928 seems ahead of its' time.
