@jessicalynnireland The people who argue that marriage is between a man and a women want to ban gay marriage. Those who argue that gays can get married are more worried about civil rights. The argument that marriage is between two people is the most effective one to use for refuting the polygamy claim.

@DjPyro2010 But it does justify polygamy. If all parties are consenting to the marriage in question then by the same logic gay marriages should be allowed, polygamous marriages should be allowed. Don't misunderstand me, I think gay marriage and polygamous marriages should both be legal. What I'm saying is there is no argument (at least not that I've heard) that justifies gay marriages that does not also apply to polygamous marriages.

I sure hope this Über-Neanderthal is picked to run against Obama. Although, on the other hand, I don't think any of the other Neanderpublicans will fare much better.

Awesome end there. "We're gonna get ruled by these cavemen? Oh, what did the God's say?"... Honest discussion about the future of the country cannot happen until we have an honest discussion about who we are. We are not all Christian. Even those that say they are Christian don't all follow the strict path. Theocracy sounds great to them, but strips my ability to live as a free adult person in America impossible. There is a culture clash coming. The collision will be heard for generations.

@ElnAlter What do Gays think about Poly? Do they argue against each other about Poly being next? Do Gays who support Poly are liked or hated by Gays who do not? A Gay who states Marriage is between 2 consenting adults: is that a conservative Gay? Can Gays & Polys be friends? What do Gays think about Poly Gays? How would Gays react if Polys compare themselves to the their Civil movement in the same/similar way Gays in turn compared themselves to the African civil movement? & so on.

@ImperialGenKlenner It's impossible to understand your posts...I'm not being mean, I just want to know what you have to say.

@DjPyro2010 The Slippery Slope is the Achilles Heel of the political colossus that the LGBT + their allies have becomed. That is, assuming they oppose the end of the # limit. But no1 seems to know & I have looked, but nothing. Now that SSM has becomed a Civil Rights issue which will in turn, open the door to SB48 Gay History in schools... the time has come for the LGBT to step forward & officially disclose their thoughts on what I agree to be The Next Civils Rights battle: Poly Marriage.

The slippery slope fallacy (gay marriage will justify polygamy) just isn't true. If there is a 95% chance that a tree falling down will knock another tree down, then there is a 93% chance that no more than 50 trees will fall.

what a cock...the same reason you wouldnt have 3 people in your marriage.....

OK ppl. Here's the situacion: There is a new type of Poly: secular Polyamory. Any1 who has been following the Canadian story knows the Gov recently re-adjusted its anti-poly laws to include only Polygamy, freeing the Polyamorists to live w/o being called criminals. The old religious abusive Polygamy & new responsible Polyamory are now 2 seperate entities in that country. We will see what happends next...
Women were allowed to have slaves? And people say the Bible isn't progressive.

The description for this video says, "Cenk Uygur discusses this ridiculous response by Santorum" but in his actual comments Uygur does not address ~at all~ the exchange that Santorum had with the students in the video clip that was shown. Instead Uygur takes the soapbox and engages in his own commentary on the Bible. I just wanted to hear what he thought was ridiculous about Santorum's response....
