Marina di Ragusa

Marina di Ragusa è una frazione balneare di 2500 abitanti. Nel periodo estivo la popolazione cresce notevolmente fino a raggiungere, secondo alcune stime, i 60 mila abitanti.
Mazzarelli era l'antico nome di Marina di Ragusa. Nel 1928, per volontà del gerarca fascista Filippo Pennavaria, il nome venne cambiato.
Marina di Ragusa nasce come borgo di pescatori, ma a partire dagli anni sessanta si trasforma via via in una località a vocazione turistica. Oggi non rimane più niente di quel passato di pescatori. L'economia del piccolo centro è basata oltre che sul turismo anche sull'agricoltura infatti nelle campagne che circondano Marina di Ragusa si è sviluppata la serricultura.
Il centro di Marina di Ragusa si sviluppa su due lungomari: il lungomare Andrea Doria e il lungomare Mediterraneo.
Il lungomare Andrea Doria è lungo più di un chilometro. Qui si svolge principalmente la vita notturna estiva. Ci sono alberghi e locali notturni oltre che negozi. In estate questo viale si riempie di gente fino all'inverosimile.
Il lungomare Mediterraneo ha una lunghezza inferiore rispetto all'Andrea Doria ed più tranquillo e delimitato dalla spiaggia da un lato e dall'altro dalle abitazioni dei residenti arriva fino al porto turistico.
Infine abbiamo le spiagge e il mare che ha ottenuto la bandiera blu come mare pulito. Un importante riconoscimento internazionale che è il vanto di questo centro turistico della costa siciliana.
Adesso che sono pronte tutte le variabili necessarie per lo sviluppo del turismo: porto turistico, belle spiagge, mare pulito, alberghi e locali notturni; Marina di Ragusa è pronta ad accogliere i turisti veri e non solo i villeggianti locali.

@SANDROCHAT1965 ....non volevo sminuire il lavoro meritorio che gli enti locali hanno fatto per rendere appetibile questa località.......il mio pessimismo si riferiva alla carenze di infrastrutture (pensa ad esempio alla SA-RC) che dovrebbero facilitare il flusso dal nord e dall'estero!!
