This is a vid of my P. pulcher 29g. The male and female are in pre-courting mode. Note the females torn caudal fin which means she better fatten up with eggs soon, the male is ready to spawn!

  • pelvicachromis are the genera of the kribensis, and are somewhat easy to breed depending on the liniage (wild vs. tank raised)

  • i agree, thats the species we thought they were initially.

i dont have any vids of this species, but 2 other morphs if you check out my other vids on youtube. ill make more vids in the coming weeks. :)

  • they are courting a little more now. im expecting a spawn soon. the male has colored up a little better and they are doing well. :)

  • how is the pair doing? this looks like a special variety. the yellow is so strong in the female. also is she stressed cuz i see yellow but the black bars and the pink belly are not there.

  • This morph doesnt get bars and her belly is red, im not sure if youre screen shows it, but she is very red actually. they are courting, this is their "happy" coloration. they havent spawned in a while, but at this time, we really arent trying.

  • Did you buy these fish with these colors or did you have to do some selective breeding. I really like the spots on the males tail. My female's belly is as red as yours but her face isn't nearly as yellow.

  • awesome pair! congratulations

  • i finally understand. we want more pelvichromis videos: pulcher or taeniatus everything! i got my first pair of P taeniatus but they are stripped so i think they are from a different region than urs. the female is really really skinny.

  • Wonderful fishes. They seem "pelvicachromis sacrimontis". did the spawn yet? Have you more videos?

    greetings

  • are they easy to breed?.. if i just put a male and female in a nice big planted tank are the odds they will breed?

  • i love you

  • Awesome pair. For them to be so pale I can tell they have potential to color up very nicely. Normally when the black is so faded they red/ purple/ yellows are faded too. It 'll be exciting to see how bright they will get. Did you pick them up at a LFS?
