@jennso1990 It's not necessary, but it's definitively recommended. It basically burns the game 100%, instead of 97%.

what can be the reason why I can't eject the tray when I power the drive externally?.....

I can see a green light flashing on the burner, but I can't hear any reactions of the burner.

Will LiteOn 24X Internal DVD Writer (IHAS324-98) work?

@BlueCaliSurfing You will be able to flash it ONLY if your IHAS424-98's Firmware is from July (GL1A), NOT the newest firmware from November (GL1B) If yours has come with the newest stock firmware, you will not be able to flash your drive because there is no supported Burner Max firmware yet. However, you may be able to crossflash your 424 with the 624. Send me a message for instructions on that.

you CANNOT do this to any drive other than the IHAS burners... really, why do people ask??? go and spend 19.99 @ microcenter and get one,,, they had the 124b on sale last time i was there,,, as for the people having problems with memorex.... it is because THEY ARE JUNK. ALWAYS use Verbatims.... the M001's burn at 2.4x or M003's burn @ 4x. anyone that gets a failed flash, just do it again...
