Freestylin is older than rap itself, before rap when hiphop was just dj's & b-boys they invented freestyling. b-boy were FREE STYLERS meaning they danced with no choreography. Freestyle just means with no direction, so if you are rapping with no song structure and just spitting bars yes that is a freestyle.
