She was definitely Canada's sweetheart on the ice. She was a four time Canadian figure skating champion, a two time world champion, and one time Olympic champion. Even after retirement, she still remained active in the skating world.
In 2009, she carried the Olympic flame into the House of Commons as part of the relay in the lead-up to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
RIP, Barbara.
