A tour of the beautiful Refugio Amazonas lodge in the Tambopata Reserve in Peru. A part of the Amazon, this resort is situated in the most bio-diverse area in the world. The lodge is green and made of local materials. Electricity by generators is only available for a few hours per day, there is no hot water, and there is an emphasis on low impact tourism. The rooms are open-air facing the jungle, with large rooms but only curtains for doors. The resort has a multitude of activities in the jungle (canopy viewing, blind viewing, tree climbing, fishing, jungle treks, etc) and is very remote. When the lanterns are turned off at night, it is pitch black. An awesome experience in the Amazon!
