  • Here is a tip Steve I have done for years. After spraying your lacquer or even brushing it, once it starts to tack up, sprinkle baby powder talk on it. It wipes right of and leaves it ready to go. I did this by chance one time and it has worked since. Experiment away with it. I think you'll like it.

  • @papadonto8 I'll have to give that a shot! Thanks!

  • Awesome Vid. I got a little trick for you. I used to complain about not having a spindle sander too. Just get a piece if 1/4 dowel and a dowel at 2 or 3 inches in diameter. Drill a 1/4 inch hole in the bigger dowel. Cut a slot all the way up the length of the bigger dowel. Glue small dowel into the 1/4 inch hole you made in the bigger one and then wrap a sheet of sand paper around the bigger one and tuck both ends into the slot to hold it in place. Insert into drill and off you go.

  • @njdizzzle Now THAT is a cool tip. I love it!

  • Hey Steven, I was wondering if you have an opinion on the value of dados in a project like this. lol - - BEER in TEXAS ! !

  • @specialks1953 Well, any project involving beer is a good thing. Texas? Well, that's a big subject.

  • Hay steve, Great video as always. I also wanted a drum sander for my projects but theres a easy and $ friendly way to get one. Buy a small kit of bits and sand paper like the ones for the drum sander but rather then blowing alot on the sander just use the bits in your drill press. Its a great money saver. Keep up the good work. Regards from Newfoundland.

  • How is it working out so far? Where the arched dividers a good idea? Thanks

  • TST (Temp. Saving Time) - LOL!!

  • We love silverware.

  • Why didnt you use your rip fence when you cut the plywood for the bottom???

  • Need to replace those 3/4 extension epoxy-coated drawer glides with some full-extension ones! They even make them in a soft-close variety... still 1/2" thick, so it should be an easy swap-out. They're not quite as smooth as the undermount soft-close glides, but they're pretty good. TIP: Don't buy them at a big box store or a woodworking specialty shop. Go to a cabinet supply wholesaler.

    Good vid, BTW.

  • great video

  • Hey Steve,

Like always great video. They do make a compression type spindle sander that goes into your drill press. Also my daughter watched one of your videos with me and now she's hooked. She thought you were great. Thank you and keep hanging in there.
