Before you concentrate heavily on Martial Art techniques, become an athelete first. Martial Art techniques will do you no good if you are unfit and unhealthy.

Freddie has founded Freddies Modern Kung Fu in 2009, an online Martial Arts Academy on YouTube, that expresses his interpretation of Bruce Lees Jeet Kune Do. His private school is located in Chicago, IL. Freddies Modern Kung Fu is non-commercialized and is in its purest form. All techniques are scientifically proven to be effective and all techniques are aimed towards unarmed street survival combat. Freddie hand selects disciples to personally train that have the proper discipline and compassionate heart to become successful in his art. If you are interested in becoming a disciple of Freddies Modern Kung Fu, log onto his YouTube channel FreddiesModernKungFu and watch the playlist Becoming a Disciple to determine if this art is right for you. Freddie is available for personal and private instruction in Chicago, IL. Freddie can be contacted via email at: FreddiesModernKungFu@live.com

  • I consider myself one who was once a very good MA, but is now someone who only has an understanding of MA and could pass it one to someone else, but really can't perform at any high level. However I continue to strive toward being fit. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • I respect your honesty & humbleness. I believe U probably have much to share about the understanding of the Martial Arts. U may B highly trained mentally & spiritually and can really help others to find the way, but those who are too egoistic will judge you from your physical alone and fail to see the beauty you have to offer. A truly humble artist will find the the strengths in all and can learn from anyone. After all the physical is the just the physical it will pass, I admire your humbleness

  • I like what you are saying, and it's plan simple truth, and I'm a guy who was super fit, but it now not fit. My question to you is............who are you addressing in these video?

  • I'm addressing all those who practice MA and feel they have reached a high level, such as a black belt and have become arrogant because of they feel their skill is superior and then they let themselves go b/c they feel there is nothing more to strive towards. Fitness is something you must maintain for life, there is no black belt in fitness, that is how I view MA, it is never ending journey of no rank. Also if you are unfit and you have achieved high rank in MA you don't deserve that rank

  • Because fitness and health is the foundation. If you do not have the foundation, then your skill in MA means nothing. It's like having a fancy vehicle that can't move. I feel that all those who claim themselves as Martial Artists should only claim themselves to be when they have reached a decent level of fitness. Not all should claim themselves to be athletes, you can usually tell an athlete when you see one in action. I'm addressing those who think they are Martial Artists when they R unfit.

  • Just like basketball, you could have high basketball IQ, but if your not fit, you can only play at a low level.

  • Very True
