  • @hemershe my uncle bill was also in the special forces section in the raf regiment, before he transfered to the a&sh and remained with them till he retired as a wo1 after 24 yrs, he came out and retired into civy street and had everything to live for when he was tragicly killed in a road traffic accident that was not his fault, i had the privilage to meet a lot of his old comrades at his funeral, including my hero LT,COL Mitchell himself, and he spoke very highly of my uncle bill matthews,

  • I was in borneo with 45 Regt RA.(176 bty.) We were in a position with A&S H'ders. It might have been Tebedu, but I was in a number of positions 1964-65.I was attached to SBS at Sematan, then back on Guns at Padawan,Sereiki,Plama Mapu,Tebedu and some places I can't recall.Used to do sea patrols in Geminis at Sematan,up passed Turtle Islands up by Tanjong Datu,What a life!! The Indo's were gun-running round the Point. We worked in conjunction with the Royal Navy.I could go on,but I'm off to bed!

  • I am a Malay Scots-Irish. My mother is from Glasgow and my father from Kuching, Sarawak. It is interesting how it is a Scottish force in my beloved Sarawak. I was born in Borneo and find this one of those interesting intersections between both my paternal and maternal side. One world.

  • I served with the Medics at Sibu in 1965.. The camp was just by the airfield. Your video made me hear the chit chats and think of Tiger-Tops. A long time ago when we were young guys and up for anything. Cheers mate keep it going.

  • Always Argyll.

  • at 19,24,31and 36 Bill Matthews from Dunoon.

  • cracking picture of my uncle bill matthews on it thanks for posting
