@TheBoomstickhero Well yeah there was shitty music back then and there always will be. The same as there will always be very good music. But the stuff that passes for mainstream now would have never flied back then, now they push music that is marketable and easy to replicate because its easier than finding actual talented artists and taking risks. It's a more predictable safe investment for record execs to make everything sound the same and dumb down the masses at the same time.

Mind you, despite common perception, there was a lot of shitty mainstream music back then too; it's just that good bands were marginalized to a lesser extent, maybe.

Progressive rock isnt dead it just went underground.The seceret is to know the great prog prog/metal labels like Inside Out or Magna Carta.Spocks Beard sells plenty of records in Europe and Japan too bad Americans have their heads up their hip hopping and country music ass's.

The fact that songs like this NEVER get on the radio explains why the music industry is in decline - the radio just plays the same old crap-ola. Who wants to hear Led Zep's "Stairway to Heaven" for the zillionth time?!

that's absolutely right. It's hard for people to believe for some reason, but even back in the days of Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, there were a lot of awful pop bands, too, it's just gotten particularly bad these days.
