@amrit4900 Making fun of this movie, though I am sure you are ignorant the importance of this film, is like making fun of a film on the holocaust...
We here in North America have no problem pointing a finger at the genocide in other places of the world, in other points in history, while we live in a country that was built on the same shameful genocide of a people and their way of life... And we remain so very ignorant... pretty sad...

As a young black person, I feel sorrow and anger at the enslavement and abuse of blacks. But I feel more sorrow for the fate First Nations people. We get a month to recognize our suffereing and later sucesses, the past of Aborignals and Native Americans (laiden with genocide, kidnapping and abuse) reamins forgotten by many.
There should be much more recognition for their people,
They were the first to go (be rather be killed off), They certiainly shouldn't be the last rememebered.

@fanniemaeflippers This was required viewing for us in grade 9. I believe it is so relevant today - whether it's about First Nations, gay and lesbian people; anyone who has been and continues to be dehumanized by society and the church. Maybe someday, some generation will learn that you do NOT do this to other human beings. Ever.

I would think that a greater Asian Indian would be a little more sympathetic to an attempted genocide by outsiders upon a people. Then again, you have grown up in the cradle of Canada where you will never have to know about what your grandparents and greatgrandparents went through at the hands of Muslims and Europeans.
When your Sihk and Punjabi ancestors were killing their own daughters to keep them from falling into Muslim hands this was happening to Canada's aboriginal children.
yeah the audio is messed up
