I, my aunt, and 2 of my cousins drive Mercedes. We're black and I just proved your logic wrong. No, this commerical didnt drive us towards buying one, nor for the status symbol, but because NOTHING drives like a Benz.

Yeah totally, I know and know of TONS of African Americans that own and operate a Mercedes product, what does the color of ones skin have to do with what they drive?

I'm not black but i'm not all white neather I'm mostly Indian on my mothers side, and I had a Mercedes before......Apache Indian...not India Indian...:)

The Mercedes is a car that represents "white values" and is bought by rich white usually.

This is not a car bought by people making less than $150K a year.

Mercedes, like Armani, or other high end things, is a symbol/expression of your being successful in life in conventional ways, ie. business or corporate ladder.

Such a perception is typically not compatible with black flamboyance, their in-your-face mentality.

Commercial is nauseatingly fake.
