  • She's so cute!

  • How old was Lillian Gish in this clip? Whatever her age was, she looked really elegant and beautiful. She could silence a number of cheeky actresses were she alive today. She had class and Hollywood actresses ought to be like her. Not only was she lovely in her appearance but her kind and warm nature, I believe, helped everybody adore the peerless actress.

Thanks for posting this clip. Lillian Gish keeps living in those who love her.

  • When was this filmed?

  • it´s strange to hear the voice of the silent movie star............;)

    lilian gish was the best

  • @JmandMicah In her autobiography, she wrote that D.W. Griffith had all his actors take voice lessons. And dancing, riding, you name it.

  • Don't take this the wrong way - I absolutely love Lillian Gish and am in a band named after her with good reason - but frankly, I think the fact she was in Birth of a Nation slightly invalidates the verisimilitude I'm sure she meant in the "all races were lovingly kidded" comment vis the blackface scene... In no way would I ever suggest she was racist or anything like, but I'm sure you can see my point. All love to her and her memory and I do know she was just trying to protect a great actor.

  • @Operalover12002

Lillian would've been about 82 here.

  • Lillian Gish is a true Hollywood legend.

Her career and life will be even more loved by generations to come.

  • @Operalover12002 I love this comment. :)

  • love you lillian. r i p

  • For being in so many Silent Films.. she sure speaks well! Not saying she didn't speak during the silent films anyway, what I mean is.. she probably wouldn't have been hired for speaking vs. body language.
