"Show Me Heaven" is a song written by Maria McKee, Eric Rackin and Jay Rifkin recorded by McKee for the soundtrack to the movie Days of Thunder (which was released in June 1990). It was later covered by Robin Zander, Laura Branigan, and other artists.

Originally written by Joshua Rifkin and Eric Rankin, when McKee was first offered the song, she refused to record it unless she was allowed to change the lyrics. She was, and with a co-writing credit, "Show Me Heaven", produced by the legendary Peter Asher, became McKee's first UK hit and by far her highest-charting single ever.

The theme song to the Tom Cruise movie Days of Thunder, McKee's recording was a massive hit in the UK, spending four weeks at number-one in September 1990. It was also a number one hit in the Netherlands and Norway. "Show Me Heaven" failed to enter the U.S. pop charts, peaking at number twenty-eight on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Although it was her only number-one as a performer, her song "A Good Heart" was taken to number-one in November 1985 by Feargal Sharkey.

Before any of you start moaning and complaining how dreadful the quality is for this upload, I suggest you find a copy of the original vob file for this video. If you can't do that then do a search on youtube for any of the videos in existence. They look terrible! Well so does the vob file where the uploads came from. Never in my life have I seen such a horrible quality video for such a beautiful song. Everything is just wrong with it. The image is so blurry and out of focus in places that my first reaction was to just throw it in a bin. Well I can't seem to resist giving it a go even if the source is dreadful.

I have removed as much crap from the image as possible while trying to preserve the already very delicate and poor image detail. This was a mammoth task and took 4 passes lasting many hours and I've succeeded in scrubbing it very clean. The colors were dead and so I've boosted them quite a bit including some corrections to the lighting levels for the video. This brought out a bit more of the poor and hidden detail. I have re-focused and de-blurred this video as much as I can. Pushing it further than this and the video image started to look bizarre.

All in all there is a good improvement over the original source. If you have the original source then dig it out and see for yourself. I've done what I can for such a terrible quality source file and all sources for this are the same rotten quality no matter where you get it from.

I have had to remaster the audio completely to get it to sound decent again. There was much wrong with it that I just don't have the energy to describe it.
