i love the chord progression in the first riff. bee ay utiful! i prolly listen to this 20 times a day. lol
-
@Freezaen yeah coz misha contributed most of those "heavier riffs"
-
@ddub1003 The snare is practically inaudible on quite a few songs on Weightless, it's weird.
-
@Freezaen If they remastered the first album to sound like Weightless, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Still, Weightless is pretty good, Somnarium is some of the best stuff I've ever heard.

@Freezaen Live drummer Vs. Drum Machine

This man shall have all my respect. Simply amazing.

@ARKAEA33 It's like we're disagreeing, but not. Maybe they'll be some heavier, more metal, hopefully more progressive oriented stuff on their next album. ^ ^

@Freezaen Yes, he most certainly did contribute HEAVILY to this song. Each and every track on the debut has drums written by Misha, lots of arrangement work, riffs, electronic elements, production, etc. done by him. EVERY. SINGLE. TRACK. Again, I think Tosin is a very skilled player... incredible. Just Misha has a much better ear in my own opinion, and apparently in yours as well.

@ARKAEA33 Meh, say what you want. Misha didn't participate in this song for all I know, but there's nothing similar on Weightless. I love Weightless, but not as much as I digged AAL. That is all, I still like it and I think the stuff they're experimenting with is cool.

@Freezaen Personally, I don't think Tosin moving in a new direction is why you like it less. I think if you really knew the process for each album, you'd understand how integral a part Misha played in creating the debut. You simply liked Misha's contributions more than Tosin's, and now that he's absent you are noticing the decline in quality. Sidenote: I wholeheartedly disagree on Periphery's vocalists. Both Casey and Spencer are amazing --- technically and creatively brilliant.
Does anyone else think the first album was better? I love Weightless, but AAL had better, chunkier, heavier riffs and felt more progressive, had more movement, you know? Anyway, personnal opinion, these dudes are some of the mos epic musicians alive.

I despise you Tosin, it's like when I watch you play guitar all my efforts are infinitely more inferior.
