Haha! Yeah, it was about a day after I posted that comment that I was thinking about it and realised of course he'd seen it, he'd have fitted the thing! I apologise for the retarded post :)

And the garage didnt even notice this installed? Was it in the rear view mirror? I would love to have heard the 'Engineers' statement after you confronted them...

125mph on a clear DC is not an issue. the 80mph through houses is where you need good brakes!

@Discern77 - quick follow up message to say my camera was still in warranty (2 years) so I was able to return it and get a replacement.

Great idea, not just to catch out shitty garages who cant be trusted but also for those accidents where the other driver denies its his fault.

Bought a RoadHawk from Dogcam over 12 months ago. Very pleased with it, except the power socket has worn out and the camera now keeps switching off mid-journey. Such a shame.
Power connection problems seem to be a common theme. This is the second in-car camera I've bought. The previous camera would reboot every time I went through a pothole. So it was unusable.
Future in-car cameras need to have better power connections which are more suitable to repeated plugging in/out and bumpy roads.
This is very good but appears to lack being able to export the video.. this i'd say is a major flw in the software; i'd have one now, and I'm sure others would if only you can export the video, i.e. without the gps \speed detail on it... !!! anyone know if this is possible.?

@dazzassti Yes, there is an option in the software to export the video as an AVI file so you get the video and the audio with no GPS or G-Force data.

NMMG2 You can also use CamStudio which is free and works well but not quite as powerful as camtasia.

Whilst you're all getting excited and wanting to buy one... the government we be glad it further adds to the acceptance of cameras everywhere - and gives them another batch of eyes to tap into... and don't think they won't do it.
Save your money - and maybe a little bit of our freedom.

Hi, there's no way to tap in to these cameras. they do not broadcast or send out any images.

Isn't this a device car thieves will love.
I love the idea and will be getting one, just a bit worried of leaving it in the car. :(
