71 Year Old Man Beaten by Santa Clara Police DOC Officers

ELDERLY MAN BEATEN BY SANTA CLARA POLICE DOC OFFICERS.

Titus Rucker, a disabled 71-year-old man who found himself in "civil custody" (not criminal custody) of the Department of Corrections of Santa Clara County on December 29, 2004 was beaten by DOC officers. Titus Rucker, now 73-years-old, was beaten without cause while in custody on December 29, 2004. He suffered a skull fracture, loss of eyesight, torn ligaments and a dislocated arm.

The official incident report states that the DOC officer (easily 40 years younger than Mr. Rucker) "feared that Mr. Rucker was going to assault or attempt to injure him," therefore, Mr. Rucker was taken to the ground and beaten. More than 10 DOC officers assisted in the beating.

@shadowphen22 You don't have to slam a 71 year old to restrain him. You know that when you get older just falling down can cause serious injury right? These cops are way to paranoid, It's become a reflex to them to "restrain" somebody for coughing. It isn't clear in the video who actually made the first move, all I'm saying is there are easier ways for a juiced up cop to restrain the elderly... He already had his wrist bent, thats enough control for a 71 year old, no need to slam him.

sometimes i am ashamed to be an American when i see things like this going on a gang of thugs on the street would not have done that not that many anyway.the people who live there should be outraged by what this paid gang of thugs did but there probably like all Americans scared of the police and long as its not them or a family member they don't want to get involved so the police continue to beat,rape,steal,kill and anything else they want to do and we turn our heads because we are scared.
