The scene of the very first modern gay marriages performed by Amsterdam Mayor Job Cohen on 1 April 2001 at the stroke of midnight.

Also featured is tireless marriage equality advocate Henk Krol. Henk is the man with the mustache sitting at the table second from the left. He created the first gay magazine in Holland, Gaykrant (Gaypaper) and also owns the website: http://www.gaykrant.nl . He spent well over 10 years advocating for gay marriage. A former member of Parliament, he won the support of the liberal parties, helping the gay marriage bill to pass the Parliamentary vote.
