At the turn of the century not only were SUVs the most popular vehicle on the market but they were also the most dangerous. Over two thousand people needlessly die every year as a result of the SUVs poor safety design. Including interviews with professors, national safety regulators, and auto salesmen, You Me + The SUV takes an intense look at the culture and consequences of America's obese automobile obsession.

  • You complain about pedestrians, maybe they should watch where they are going. You show a fucking video of a Navigator hitting a Neon. One of the BIGGEST CARS MADE, hitting the most unsafe. (Go look it up! It was the unsafest fucking car through the 90s and into the 2000s) To me thats a fucking pitty point your trying to make to brainwash every fucking dumbass out there who watches this shit and believes it.

  • Thanks for watching.

  • That dosent help other road users. + a 1.5 ton car stops quicker and handles better than a 3 ton bulky SUV.

  • This is obviously a controversial topic.

    -all the different REACTONS- WOW!

That must mean your video is working.

I am a Rehab therapist.I work with victims of accident in both types of vehicles.

I suggest that you do a follow-up video: Interview the victims and their families- present their reality and feedback.

  • I am safer. Its basic science. My 7000 pounds suv hitting your 4000 pound car. Well your dead. Sorry. Life aint fare.

  • This is crap!

  • @oomindwarpoo Motor vehicle numbers have increased from 1994 to 2004.

  • 4:08 - The Dodge Neon was poorly designed in the first place. It failed it's NHTSA test while cars such as the Ford Taurus, Toyota Camry, 1996-2000 Honda Civic, and Chevrolet Lumina were passing the IIHS's more stringent test. This was all in the 1995-1996 period.

  • Only problem: The minivan's golden age (1990-1997) is over, leaving dork mobiles for the 2000s.

  • And more drivers too.

  • "Increase of driver fatalities"

The numbers have jumped around over the years and from that list shown its not on a steady increase... its almost staying the same. I've been around trucks and SUVs my whole life. I currently own a 2005 Chevy Silverado truck that gets 15 MPG and a 2008 Nissan Armada SUV that gets 13 MPGs. I bet your a liberal who needs a life. SUVs & Trucks for the win!

  • "people buy them for their extra space"

If you want that, get a van :)

  • This video is retarded and proves nothing. From 1994-2004 according to your numbers only 2,000 more traffic deaths have occured. That's not saying any were due to SUV faults. Most of them were probably due to speed, inattentiveness, alcohol, cellphones, weather conditions or some ricers driving "mad tyte jdm style yo."

    Stupid hippies.

  • Of course :) all SUV drivers love their SUV!

Usually SUV drivers love to SUCK IT too :)

when your kids will die of lung cancer we will talk about it again ;)
