I finished reading the 2nd or 3rd series 3 days after I found out I was pregnant. I said to my husband, "well, if it is a girl and has red hair, we could name her Ce'Nedra." Well she does and we did. She is 17 now and has beautiful, red curly hair. Many lovely comments about her. Thanks for posting this. I will show it to her. She has read some of the series herself. I think David Eddings was a great writer and easier to read than "the Hobbit" or "Lord of the Rings."

I totally agree. That was a truly shitty choice of soundtrack (...or genre even).
But, to each his own, etc, etc.

I hope that there isn't a film of Eddings' work. If the LOTR film trilogy is any indicator then we can safely assume that huge chunks of the Belgariad / Mallorean will be cut to make everything 'fit'. I think that there would need to be at least 6-7 films of 3+ hours each to do any B / M any justice (as mentioned below).
That said, in the next 10 years or so, I can see some director/producer trying to replicate the success of LOTR via the Eddings route ...which would be sweet irony, I suppose.

@DrizztDoUrden1234567 Yeah true, true... something that appeals to prepubescent girls. And in reflection, I highly doubt any films would do this series justice. It'd have extremely high standards to live up to

this song makes sense for the series. they should make an mmo for the belgariad, taking place after the mallorean. my favorite characters in the series are silk, mandorallen, and lelldorin's uncle, his uncle just because of the part where the arendish queen calls a meeting of the austurian nobles and asks why they won't give an oath of loyalty, they find out that the centuries of bloodshed is all over a technicality. this series is amazing, and if you have not read it i suggest that you do.
If it wasn't for this video, I wouldn't of found my favourite band, Hammerfall... THANK YOU SO MUCH! David Eddings and Hammerfall together - two of my favourite things in one place.

@killzerdood Haha I'm glad I could have helped. Help spread the metal! \m/ Also the Eddingeses ( :-D ) don't get near enough credit as they should for being one of the best fantasy authors out there

@DrizztDoUrden1234567 Indeed they don't unfortunately :/ Why things like Twilight have their own Movies and the publicity that they get, and this doesn't, I still wonder to this day....

@killzerdood I don't quite get it myself. I do think that a lot of the things that come out nowadays are more mainstream and that's exactly what the depraved public wants: something that they have seen already.

Dude, shocking music to go with series.. but, why don't you have a link (affiliate link) in your text description to amazon where people buy the book?

@paulbarrs What's so shocking about he music? It's fantastic. And I don't provide a link because if people are so lazy not to go to Amazon themselves when google is right in front of them then I shouldn't even try to help them to begin with.
