Whenever or Wherever on Earth you are, when you look up into the blue day or the black night, you see the sky. The sky is our guardian, our protector. It shields us from the vacuum of space, and keeps us warm and cozy on our little ball of rock. But like a good parent, it knows when to let us go. A rocket climbs through the atmosphere, breaking the sound barrier. Onlookers below hear the mighty crackling and booming of the engines as the spacecraft draws closer to the cosmic ocean. The ship breaks through the blue bonds of Earth, and floats in the black sky. It pitches and rolls on its path to orbit. From up here, our entire planet is silent and tranquil. Even the strongest Hurricanes seem like nothing more than giant white pinwheels. I think that every single human being on this planet would be overwhelmed with joy to see such a sight, to see the Earth from so great a height. Personally, it would very likely bring me to tears of joy. The serenity of the cosmos is unmatched by anything on Earth, natural or man-made. It has the ability to completely wipe away any stress or sadness locked up inside our mind. No work of fiction ever created comes close to the beauty of reality, to attempt to do so is futile, as the universe is perfect. The universe is, well, the universal definition of perfection.
It's larger than the human mind is capable of fully comprehending. It's just that big. And it's likely that the human species will never see it all or know everything about it. But from what we can see now, we already know that the world past the sky dwarfs anything we have conceived ourselves. Not enough people realize this. I sincerely hope that everyone out there enjoys this Universe in their short time in it. Just a simple night of stargazing is one of the most awe-inspiring things that we can do on Earth. Too many people disregard space as useless and too tedious to take advantage of. Whether or not you think we will ever venture to the stars, do not deprive yourself of the simple pleasure of seeing them.
