  • the darjeeling story is not as exotic as it looks from outside. see a special report: SIMMERING DISCONTENT OVER TEA in the Down To Earth website.

  • @walkm023 Thanks for your interjection. Yes, it's interesting what you say and I should have thought of it. But you are clearly the exception that confirms the rule among the Christian community. Take Germans, French, Dutch, Italiens, Americans – all coffee drinkers in the majority. I know this pattern is currently changing and we have to see also that McKenna's assessment dates back to the 1990s.

  • @ipublica well i would hardly say that, i mean we British are a largely christian culture (although as many say, the United Kingdom is a very ethnicly diverse nation, no longer made up of just white middle classes in bowler hats and umbrellas) and yet we drink 165,000,000 cups of tea a day. i myself am 15 and tend to drink at least 6 cups a day, sometimes up to 11 or 12; personally i prefer assam tea, followed by either Darjeeling or earl grey. indian tea is the best, far superior to chinese tea

  • Thanks so much for this wonderful video. You are so right about tea, especially Darjeeling tea and the values attached to it. Christian culture is a coffee culture, Hindu and Buddhist cultures are tea cultures, says Terence McKenna in his book Food of the Gods (1991).

  • the narrator is possibly the gayest man ever

  • darjelling west bengal india rulz
