West Suffolk Wheelers Grass Track Meeting - Madison

This was a 3.8km madison, open to all riders at the meeting. I rode with Tony Wilkins, a far more accomplished rider than me, and must admit that I was more than a little over confident before this! I rode the first few laps intending to roll around a bit and then attack. As you'll see, the kids had other ideas and I left my partner and myself with a huge gap, which we couldn't close! We finished second in the end, but had to fight for that. None of this detracts from the superb ride by Kieran Brady and Alan Trolove, who thoroughly desreved their win. Just feel a little sympathy for Tony!

When is the next time one could have a go on it

@AldeCycle - As I said, I'm not sure if the same track is being used this year. The meeting is being held on August 6th, but whether it's there or not I don't know. Google British Cycle Easter Region events 2011 (links can't be posted here). There are other grass track meetings on the list.

The track isn't public, obviously. I'm not sure if the same track will be used for the 2011 meeting or not; the venue isn't detailed in the BC Eastern Region calendar.

It's not a bad track, but very short and tight - about 180m from memory. It definitely favours sprinters.
