@FDGRebel love is a tangible perception neither positive nor negative, in this song i believe jack refers to the huge social misconception of love which is, that it is beautiful and good. Love is what you make it, love is love, and sometimes it's the biggest nightmare if you love the wrong one. Love turns from promise to lie, says so in the lyrics :)

Best ballad band from the 80's;my fave for sure; most underated;Jack Russell is a killer vocalist and they are with out a doubt amazing blues/rock!Head and shoulders above any of the bands around that era.Songwriting at it's finest. Listen Mark Kendall's guitar tone, makes me weep every time.And yeah I'm man enough to say that this band makes me cry.
