this is the demo version...the only differences are the eq on the vocals...and the drums are played by nate kelly

i actually heard this version first, which i preceded to listen to the shit out of and now the "real" version sounds weird to me.

That's generally what you do.... Listen to "Autumn Shade 2" by the vines. Their singer is really good at harmonies.
