二零零七年五月二十二日，黃家熙在荃灣德士古道品質工業大廈發生的三級火警中不幸殉職。他無懼生死的英勇行為，以及奮勇無畏的專業精神，深得世人景仰。
Wong Ka hei gallantry was demonstrated by his brave act in the operation in a No 3 Alarm fire at QPL Industrial Building, Texaco Road, Tsuen Wan, on May 22, 2007. However, it was a great misfortune that he lost his life in the course of firefighting and rescue. His bravery and professionalism won great honour from the community.
